Hi Steve

I haven't followed every link, but I've had a quick flick through. Looks clear and concise which is good - I don't like complicated sites - too clever for their own good, many of them. Glad to see you haven't fallen into that trap :-)

All the best

Harriet Potinger - BHPA Chairperson.

Dear People,

I enjoyed trawling through you pages; very informative.

Hi there, cool site you have.

Interesting ideas on your site, I did a few years working in the disability/recreation sector.

Cheers

Greetings again, Steve!

I've just been at your web site where you explain Flyability, and I think it's one of the most awesome concepts I've ever heard.

I awoke this morning thinking that I must do something similar- but it was just a vague notion, it didn't even have a name. I thought I had an inspiration, but now I see it's not even a fresh idea. I would like to become involved with the same concept here in the States, but I am just a poor flight instructor and so if I do anything at all, I must approach it from the business standpoint.

Best wishes,

John Olson: info@learntohangglide.com

I want to commend you on what Flyability is accomplishing through their great program!

Hello Steve,

I hear about you on television and then on web page.

Yes, I visit the Flyability web site which look nice. The entire philosophy and the way to carry on are great. I think that is difficult to manage this activity and you have to fight against a lot of unregular problems. Don't give up! My club have also a lot of problems. First because we live in Roumania, where 50 years of comunist domination had damage everything. We have not good laws and a very poor incoming.

When I start to organize our club, in 1990, many people told me that I am crazy. Everything was aginst me: law, even lifesyle. How could you think about flight in a country where people have almost nothing for eat ? But I dont want to give up. And now my club is growing. In my country financial situation are better. We are not rich people our incoming are about 25 $ / week.

Our club are alive tanks to help from outside Roumania from Edel manager, and a few friends france pilots. They sent us used gliders as gift. Conclusion : never give up!

I admire and respect your determination.

Happy landings!

I have now accessed the flyability site, which is very good incidentally, and saved the relevant pages for further browsing.

A friend of mine passed on your web address to me and I just had the opportunity to check it out. As an arm amputee, a paraglider pilot, and a physician currently training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Utah, it is great to see this kind or resource out there.

I have been flying for about eight years now and love the sport; I took it up through the encouragement of a good friend but initially had difficulty finding an instructor to teach me as no one had ever heard of a one arm pilot before. Fortunately I found an instructor who was willing to take a chance and experiment a bit.

Hi Steve,

I checked out your web site and compliment you and everyone else connected with your organization who are providing the services and equipment to help get those of us into the air who have lost a limb and/or have a mobile disability.~Bravo, my friend !

Hi There,

I would like to commend your organization for giving the less fortunate a chance to enjoy this wonderful sport. I am a USHGA paragliding pilot ( 70600 ) P-3 and had been flying for about 3 years when I lost my left arm above the elbow in an industrial accident on March 17, 2000.

I have since learned how to fly with one arm and thank God every time I get some airtime. I would consider it an honor and a pleasure if there is any help or advice I can provide your organization with now or in the future. Please feel free to contact me.

Respectfully,

Gary Majorca

I have been introduced to Flyability through the efforts of Pete Fottrell of 'Caledonian Challenge' fame. As an enthusiast, quite new to paragliding, I am thrilled to know that it is a sport that the disabled can and do enjoy! Be encouraged in the value of what you are doing and know that there are those of us who wish to support you in your great endeavours.

Having been diagnosed with ME some 8 years ago, I contacted flyability for help. The practical advice I was given has enabled me to become a qualified Club Pilot (hill).

The help and understanding given by my instructor – Steve Milson - allowed me to get through the syllabus and tasks with none of my fellow students having any idea of my disability. I still fly with Steve as I’m very low on airtime – guess its my “safety net” at the moment.

If your thinking about it ……GO FOR IT….what have you got to lose.

I will sign this message as Anon. Why? Well my fellow club members, with 1 exception, have no idea I have ME….They just think I’m unfit and overweight…Which suits me fine…
